Frances and Shaun’s New Zealand Dream

After a far too long break from the blog I am so excited to share this truly beautiful destination wedding with you today.  Frances and Shaun were married at the Tarureka Estate in Featherstone, NZ, a rustic, sensitively restored historic barn with it’s very own chapel and banquet area.  I couldn’t help smiling watching the photo highlights reel, everything just looks so effortlessly stunning.

Frances came to The Wild Heart looking for a relaxed, fun and modern wedding dress to suit the relaxed vibe of her big day and ‘Lewisia’ by Elizabeth Dye fit the bill perfectly.  After a few bespoke changes to make the dress fit just right Frances created the dress of her dreams and these photos by Anna Munro show it off in all it’s glory!

Congratulations Frances and Shaun, you created a day full of love and laughter and one that i’m sure your guests will remember for years to come. I’ll let the photographs do the talking now…

Pinks, Pom Poms and Sweet Treats for this Blushing Bride

tables

On today’s blog we have Heather and Matthews wedding at Westerham Golf Club. Heather really did think of everything when planning her big day and not one detail was missed. The couples personality really shone through on the day and you can see from these beautiful photos that apart from tying the knot a big factor was giving their guests a great day.

A multitude of pinks and soft golds decorated the venue perfectly, from the flowers to favours, every inch of this wedding was meticulously thought out. Heather makes a great wedding stylist. A lot of what you see was handmade by her!!! With so much detail the pictures can do the talking..!

Here Heather explains to us how she came to Wild Heart and picked The dress with us….( and we are so glad she did)

“The day I dedicated to dress shopping was exciting and nerve wracking! I’m not what I’d call a ‘traditional’ bride and so most of the dresses I had come across or seen just weren’t quite right. My final stop was The Wild Heart which had been open a matter of weeks when I went to visit.

The first thing I noticed was how different it was to other bridal stores, relaxed, modern and the range of gowns looked so unique. Alex & Nicole were so welcoming and I soon had around 10 dresses to try on, way more than I had found in any one shop before!

We had a few straight up no’s, a few that split the audience and then I put on the Alexandria gown by Charlotte Balbier and I knew instantly! I thought this was just a cliché that people spoke about but no, it really did happen to me! I stepped apprehensively out of the changing rooms and the reaction from ‘the clan’ was resounding yes! Comments of “that’s so you”, “it was made to be your dress” accompanied by tears made me even more sure I had picked the perfect gown!

From then on the team at The Wild Heart couldn’t have been more helpful, helping me pick accessories such as my belt and hair piece as well as the amazing alterations that made my dress inch perfect.

I had so many compliments on my dress and can’t imagine what would have happened if I’d been in your more ‘standard’ wedding dress. I would advise everyone go to The Wild Heart, try anything on too! The range of dresses and the help from the team was amazing. So much so my cousin went and got her dress there too.”

Thank you Heather and Matthew for sharing your wedding with us. Now here are some gorgeous pictures by Emmie Scott Photography to feast your eyes on…

A glittering glamorous affair

When Danielle came to Wild Heart she was looking for something glamorous and truly unique for her shimmering sultry deco wedding at Chilstern Park Hotel and she certainly made the right decision choosing the Karen Willis Holmes “Caitlyn”. A full sequin, embroidered illusion low back, bias cut gown….WOW. A firm favorite here at Wild Heart.

Danielle and Iain’s wedding at Chilstern Park was everything it promised to be. A country house hotel boasting unique styling, filled with antiques and oozing character. Is there a better setting for a classy, elegant 1920’s inspired wedding?

Bringing subtle hints of the deco era to the wedding, with beaded and embellished dresses and shimmering antique gold tones. The pair pulled off a really classy but relaxed affair. Perfect for the modern bride looking to marry her man in style and have a good time doing it!

‘Wild’ Bride Hayley in Karen Willis Holmes

Image-2
Wow, welcome to our brand new blog!

We will be sharing with you all the things we love at The Wild Heart as well as featuring our beautiful real brides.  First up with have Hayley who came to us in January looking for her dream dress to wear for her wedding in February…2016. That’s right, she had 6 weeks to plan a wedding!  I think you’ll agree from these beautiful photos that Hayley pulled off a stunner of a wedding day in such a short amount of time, so after deciding on their venue, Brandshatch Place Hotel, Hayley’s next big decision was the dress…

I’ll hand over to Hayley to tell us how she made that all important decision.

When I came into The Wild Heart I had the set idea that I wanted lace and sleeves… definitely not strapless. All of the dresses in the shop were gorgeous and I wanted to try them all. I tried at least 8 or 9 dresses in this style, none of which suited me and had given up hope. Alex and Nicole had put a dress in the changing room which I avoided trying as I really didn’t like it. We were running out of time and with time for one more dress they decided I really should try it. Begrudgingly I tried it on and as soon as I stepped into it and the zip was done up, I knew! (It brings a lump to my throat when I think about it!).

When they put the over skirt on top and teamed it with the Amanda Wyatt belt, I really loved it. And when I walked out of the changing room I got the reaction I had been looking for. I went to another shop and tried some more on the next day, just to make sure but couldn’t stop thinking about the Karen Willis Holmes ‘Kelly’ gown and so went back and tried again and just knew I had to have it!

Alex and Nicole were great, never pushy and really knew what they were doing. I would never have even tried that dress on had it been just down to me!

Hayley wore the ‘Kelly’ gown with the ‘Clarisse Train’ by Karen Willis Holmes and belt by Amanda Wyatt.  She teamed her look with Jenny Packham shoes from Debenhams.  Hayley’s sister Lauren wore a navy bridesmaid dress from ASOS and Hayley’s gorgeous flower girl Ivy wore a dress from Monsoon.  And not forgetting the Groom and his party who hired suits from Penguins Suit Hire in Chatham, Kent.  Hayley’s beautiful blooms were by Blue Daisies in Meopham, Kent.

Photographer Clare Randell at Clare Randell Photography has really captured the love and fun of the day and the bride, of course, looks simply dreamy!

We had such an amazing day.  With only 6 weeks to plan it, I was worried I would miss something, but the whole day went so well – I couldn’t have wished for better. The most fun part of the day was probably the when the DJ did a ‘garage hour’ and the bouquet throw. But my favourite part was saying our vows.

So has Hayley got any advice for brides planning a wedding on a short timescale?

Lists… work out what you really want and get the main things done first. Then the small things (table decorations etc.) can be done as you go. I was buying things right up to the day before. But don’t get stressed – you will get it done and make sure you have organised and reliable people around you that you can pass things over to when you need help. I’m a control freak so was difficult to let go of anything, but I have also just enrolled on a Wedding Planner course, so maybe my advice should be to contact me?!!

Planning a wedding as beautiful as this in 6 weeks…we’d definitely say Hayley has a knack for this wedding planning lark, thank you Hayley for sharing your big day with us and also choosing The Wild Heart for your dress, we loved having you!

Alex. xXx
